Good News Translation
The king further honored Jonathan by enrolling him in the First Order of the "Friends of the King" and by making him general and governor of his province.

Thus the king honored him and enrolled him among his chief Friends, and made him general and governor of the province.

Alexander gave Jonathan even more honors. He included him among his most trusted friends and made him governor of Judea and a general in the Syrian army.
