Aramaic Bible in Plain English
1Paulus, an Apostle of Yeshua The Messiah, by the commandment of God Our Lifegiver, and of The Messiah Yeshua, our hope,
2To Timotheaus, a true son in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God Our Father and The Messiah Yeshua, Our Lord.
3I requested of you when I went to Macedonia that you remain in Ephesaus and that you command certain men that they would not teach diverse doctrines, 4And that they would not give heed to fables and to accounts of endless genealogies; these things produce all the more contentions and not edification in the faith of God. 5But the sum of The Commandments is love from a pure heart, from a good conscience and from true faith. 6Some of them have strayed from these things and have turned people away to empty words, 7In that they seek to be teachers of The Written Law, while they do not understand anything that they say, neither anything about which they contend.
8But we know that The Written Law is good if a man will be led by it, according to The Written Law, 9While he knows that The Written Law was not appointed for the righteous, but for the evil, the rebellious, the wicked, for sinners, for the vicious, for those who are impure, for those who strike their fathers, those who strike their mothers, for murderers,* 10For fornicators, for males who lie down with males,* for kidnappers of free men, for liars, for oath breakers and for all things opposed to the sound teaching 11Of The Good News of the glory of the Blessed God, with which I have been entrusted.
12And I thank him who has empowered me, Our Lord Yeshua The Messiah, who accounted me trustworthy and has put me into his ministry, 13Me, I who from the first was a blasphemer and a persecutor and abusive, but I obtained mercy, because I did not know what I was doing, without faith. 14But the grace of Our Lord abounded in me, and faith and love, which are in Yeshua The Messiah. 15This is a trustworthy saying and worthy of acceptance: "Yeshua The Messiah came to the universe to save sinners, of whom I am the foremost." 16But because of this he showed me mercy, that Yeshua The Messiah might show in me first all his patience, as the example of those who are going to believe in him unto eternal life. 17But to The King of the universe, to him who is indestructible and unseen, who is The One God*, be honor and glory to the eternity of eternities. Amen.
18I commit this decree to you, my son, Timotheaus, according to the former prophecies which were concerning you, that you may wage this excellent warfare by them, 19In faith and in good conscience, for those who have rejected this from themselves have been emptied of faith, 20Like Humenayus and Alexandraus, those whom I have delivered to Satan* that they may be instructed not to blaspheme.
