Bible-time inns were the motels of that time. But they were unlike our motels today. People did not have cars, of course, so they left their traveling animals in a large courtyard. If a person was fortunate he could find a bare room with no furniture, no toilet, no running water; no towels or linens; no soap, and certainly no restaurant or pool.
