This church, built in the 17th century, is build over much earlier churches, covering a cave or grotto and is thought to be the home of Zacharias, Elizabeth, and John the Baptist. EIN KEARIM or AIN KARIM This village west of Jerusalem is one of the traditional sites for the home of Zacharias and Elizabeth, then the birth and childhood home of their son John the Baptist.
