Attalia Attalia, a seaport of Pamphylia, near Perga, is mentioned in Acts 1425. It was founded in the second century B. C. by Attalus II, a king of Pergamon, who named the city Attaleai after himself. On Paul's first missionary journey, Paul and Barnabas sailed home to Antioch in Syria from Attalia. It was a key city in the Mediterranean region of Pamphylia. attalia; antalya; turkey; mediterranean; pamphylia; paul; barnabas; first; missionary; journey; shore; ocean; sea; seashore; coast; seaport; attalus; king; pergamon; roman; hadrian; gate; marble; arch; rosette; monumental; entranceway; old; city; missionaries; journeys; shores; oceans; seas; seashores; coasts; seaports; kings; romans; gates; marbles; arches; rosettes; cities Bible Hub |
