A bedouin woman and her donkey get water at a well near ancient Aroer, Israel. The ruins, Khirbet 'Ar'areh, are in the Negeb or Negev. David shared the Amalekite spoils with the people of Aroer (1 Samuel 30:28). Two of David's mighty men were from here (1 Chronicles 11:44).
