Scripture identifies a close link between righteousness and faith. Part of "being in a right relationship with God" is believing and trusting in him. The NT does not see faith simply in terms of moral righteousness, but also in terms of a living trusting relationship with God. Scripture affirms the righteousness of God and Jesus Christ in all their activity.
