ἀνωφελής, ἀνωφελές (alpha privative and ὄφελος); from Aeschylus down; unprofitable, useless: Titus 3:9. Neuter as a substantive in Hebrews 7:18 (διά τό αὐτῆς ἀνωφελές on account of its unprofitableness).
