II. THEY HAVE NO CONFIDENCE IN THE POWER OF CHRIST TO GRANT THE BLESSINGS HE PROMISES.

III. THEY OBJECT TO THE TERMS UPON WHICH HE OFFERS SALVATION.

1. Self-denial and the taking up of the cross.

2. Repentance.

3. Faith.

4. Purity and spirituality.
