Trials, and sometimes fiery trials, are necessary to separate the dross from the gold. God has various methods of trying mankind. 3. The prospect of being benefited and brightened by affliction, reconciles believers to the severest of trials. "Tribulation worketh patience." "Patience worketh experience." "Experience worketh hope."
