2 Thessalonians 2:1 Now we beseech you, brothers, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together to him, "By" is not a formula of adjuration. There would be no point in saying, "I beseech you by the day of the Lord, not to suppose that the day of the Lord is at hand."
