Proverbs 14:32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous has hope in his death. The Old Testament deals much with the present life; the New Testament much with the future. But the one does not teach a different thing from the other. Hope is the grand element in the religion of the righteous. A righteous man is a hopeful man. 1. There is the hope of Divine support in death itself. 2. There is the hope of complete deliverance from the evils incident to a physical existence. 3. There is the hope of introduction to unmingled and permanent good. (James Foster, M.A.) Parallel Verses KJV: The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.WEB: The wicked is brought down in his calamity, but in death, the righteous has a refuge. |
