The eternity of the plan suggests another thought. It is this — salvation is an original thought and resolution. it is no novel expedient struck out in the fertility of Divine ingenuity, after God's first purpose in regard to man had failed through man's apostasy. It is no afterthought, but the embodiment of a design which, foreseeing our ruin, had made preparation for it.
