Isaiah 50:4-11
The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary…


Nothing so clearly betokens a tongue befitting the disciples of God as the gift of consolation, and such a tongue has He who is the speaker here: "to aid with words him who is exhausted" — through the pain of suffering and mortification of spirit.
