28 And one of the scribes came, and heard them reasoning together; and perceiving that he had answered them well, he asked him: Which is the first commandment of all? 29 And Jesus answered him: The first commandment of all is, Hear, Israel, the Lord our God is one Lord. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with your whole heart, and with your whole soul, and with your whole mind, and with your whole strength. This is the first commandment. 31 And the second, which is like it, is this: You shall love your neighbor as your self. There is no other commandment greater than these.
