And on His having gone out upon the land, a certain man out of the city met Him, having demons. And for a long time he was not wearing clothing and was not abiding in a house, but in the tombs.

And having seen Jesus, having cried out, he fell down before Him and said in a loud voice, “What is it to me and to You, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me!”

For He commanded the unclean spirit to come out from the man. For many times it had seized him, and he was bound, being kept with chains and shackles. And breaking the bonds, he was driven by the demon into the wilderness.

And Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” And he said, “Legion,” because many demons were entered into him.

And they were imploring Him that He would not command them to go away into the Abyss.

Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding on the mountain, and they implored Him that He would allow them to enter into them, and He allowed them.

And the demons, having gone out from the man, entered into the pigs, and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and was drowned.
