1 Then Joshua (YHWH saves) son of Nun (fish / posterity) secretly sent two spies from Shittim (Acacia Grove), saying, “Go, inspect the land, especially Jericho (city of palms).” So they went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab (wide) and stayed there. 2 And it was reported to the king of Jericho (city of palms): “Behold, some men of Israel (he wrestles with God) have come here tonight to spy out the land.” Joshua 2:1-2, Berean Annotated Bible.
