1 Now Abram’s (exalted father) wife Sarai (princess) had borne him no children, but she had an Egyptian (double straits) maidservant named Hagar (flight). 2 So Sarai (princess) said to Abram (exalted father), “Look now, the LORD {YHWH} has prevented me from bearing children.
