2 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who prophesy to the people, and say to them who prophesy out of their own heart, Hear the word of the LORD; 3 Thus says the LORD God: Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own pride, for they have not seen any vision! 4 O Israel, your prophets are like the foxes in the ruins. 5 You have not gone up to build the breaches, neither have you made up a hedge for the house of Israel to stand in the battle in the day of the LORD. 6 For they say, Thus says the LORD; and the LORD has not sent them; and they persist in confirming a false word. 7 Indeed you have seen a vain vision, and you have spoken a lying divination, and yet you say, The LORD said it; although I have not spoken. 8 Therefore thus says the LORD God: Because you have seen false visions and spoken lies; therefore, behold, I am against you, says the LORD God.
