1 After these things having departed from Athens, he came to Corinth. 2 And having found a certain Jew by name Aquila, a Pontic by race, having recently come from Italy, and Priscilla his wife; because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to depart from Rome: he came to them: 3 and because they were of the same craft, abode with them, and they labored: for they were tentmakers by trade. 4 And he spoke in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded both Jews and Greeks. 5 And when both Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul was straitened with the word, witnessing to the Jews that Jesus is the Christ.
