1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come; 2 for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without natural affection, implacable, slanderers, intemperate, fierce, no lovers of good, 4 traitors, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God; 5 holding a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from these also turn away. 6 For of these are those who creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, and led on by manifold desires, 7 always learning, and never able to come to the full knowledge of the truth. 8 And as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so also do these withstand the truth; men utterly corrupted in mind, disapproved concerning the faith. 9 But they will proceed no further; for their folly will be fully manifest to all, as theirs also became. 10 But you did closely follow my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, 11 persecutions, sufferings; what manner of things happened to me in Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra; what persecutions I endured, and out of them all the Lord delivered me. 12 Yea, and all who wish to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. 2 Timothy 3:1-12, Worrell New Testament.
