13 And he carried out from there all the treasures of the house of YHWH and the treasures of the house of the king, and he cut in pieces all the articles of gold that Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of YHWH, as YHWH had declared. 14 And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the captains, and all the mighty men of valor—ten thousand captives—and every craftsman and smith. None remained except the poor of the people of the land. 15 And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon. And the mother of the king, and the wives of the king, and his eunuchs, and the leaders of the land, he carried into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon, 16 and all the men of valor, seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths, a thousand, all strong, fit for war. And the king of Babylon brought these captive to Babylon. 17 And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his uncle king in his place, and he turned his name to Zedekiah. 18 Zedekiah was a son of twenty-one years in his reigning, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And the name of his mother was Hamutal daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah. 19 And He did evil in the eyes of YHWH, according to all that Jehoiakim had done. 20 For on account of the nose of YHWH this happened in Jerusalem and Judah, that He finally cast them out from His presence. And Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon. 2 Kings 24:13-20, Berean Literal Bible. Public domain.
