3 From there David (beloved) went to Mizpeh (watchtower) of Moab (of his father), where he said to the king of Moab, “Please let my father and mother stay [go forth] with you⁺ until I learn what God {Elohim} will do for me.” 4 So he left them in the care of the king of Moab (of his father), and they stayed with him the whole time David (beloved) was in the stronghold. 5 Then the prophet Gad (troop) said to David (beloved), “Do not stay in the stronghold.
