1 Peter (rock), an apostle (sent one) of Jesus (YHWH saves) Christ (the Anointed One), To the elect who are exiles of the Dispersion throughout Pontus, Galatia (Land of the Gauls), Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, chosen \To the elect sojourners of the Diaspora of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia/ 2 according to the foreknowledge of God {Theou} the Father and sanctified by the Spirit {Pneumatos} for obedience to Jesus (YHWH saves) Christ (the Anointed One) and sprinkling by His blood: Grace and peace be yours⁺ in abundance. 3 Blessed be the God {Theos} and Father {Patēr} of our Lord {Kyriou} Jesus (YHWH saves) Christ (the Anointed One)! By His great mercy (compassion) He has given us new birth (has caused us to be born again) into a living hope through the resurrection (rising again) of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, reserved in heaven for you⁺, 5 who through faith are shielded by God’s {Theou} power {dynamei} for the salvation that is ready to be revealed (uncovered) in the last time. 6 In this you⁺ greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in various trials 7 so that the proven character of your⁺ faith—more precious than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise (approval), glory {doxan}, and honor at the revelation of Jesus (YHWH saves) Christ (the Anointed One). 1 Peter 1:1-7, Berean Annotated Bible.
