5 And he built against the wall of the house chambers all around, the walls of the house all around, the sanctuary and the inner sanctuary. And he made side chambers all around it. 6 The lowest couch was five by the cubit wide, and the middle was six by the cubit wide, and the third was seven by the cubit wide. For ledges he gave all around the outside of the temple, so that nothing would be fastened into the walls of the house. 7 And the house, when it was being built, was built with stone finished at the quarry, so that hammer or chisel or any iron tool was not heard in the house while it was being built. 8 The doorway for the bottom story was on the right side of the house, and by stairs they went up the middle story, and from the middle to the third. 1 Kings 6:5-8, Berean Literal Bible.
