1 In the spring \At the turn of the year/, at the time when kings march out to war, Joab (YHWH is father) led out the army and ravaged the land of the Ammonites (tribal). He came to Rabbah (great) and besieged it, but David (beloved) remained in Jerusalem (city of peace). And Joab attacked Rabbah and demolished it. 2 Then David (beloved) took the crown from the head of their king (from the head of Milcom). It was found to weigh a talent of gold <75.4 lb / 34.2 kg> and was set with precious stones, and it was placed on David’s head. And David took a great amount of plunder from the city. 3 David brought out the people who were there and put them to work (cut them) with saws, iron picks, and axes. And he (beloved) did the same to all the Ammonite (tribal) cities. Then David and all his troops returned to Jerusalem (city of peace). 1 Chronicles 20:1-3, Berean Annotated Bible. Public domain.
