12 Moreover Abishai the son of Zuriah brother of Joab slew the Edomites in the valley of salt, eighteen thousand men. And he said to him, If the Arameans are too strong for me, then you shall come to my help; but if the children of Ammon are too strong for you, then I will come to help you. 13 And David appointed governors over the Edomites, and all the Edomites became David's servants. Thus the LORD preserved David wherever he went.
