My son, if thou receivest my words, and layest up my commandments with thee, My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you,
so that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom [and] thou apply thy heart to understanding; making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding—
yea, if thou criest after discernment [and] liftest up thy voice to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding,
if thou seekest her as silver and searchest for her as for hidden treasures: if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure,
then shalt thou understand the fear of Jehovah, and find the knowledge of God. then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.
For Jehovah giveth wisdom; out of his mouth [come] knowledge and understanding. For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
