1 These are the ones whom the LORD commanded to apportion the inheritance to the Israelites in the land of Canaan. These are the men whom the LORD commanded to divide the inheritance for the people of Israel in the land of Canaan. These <i>are they</i> whom the LORD commanded to divide the inheritance unto the children of Israel in the land of Canaan. These are the ones whom the LORD commanded to apportion the inheritance to the sons of Israel in the land of Canaan. These are the men the LORD commanded to assign the inheritance to the Israelites in the land of Canaan.
2 Then the LORD said to Moses, The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, Then the LORD spoke to Moses, saying, The LORD said to Moses,
3 “Command the Israelites and say to them: When you enter the land of Canaan, it will be allotted to you as an inheritance with these boundaries: “Command the people of Israel, and say to them, When you enter the land of Canaan (this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, the land of Canaan as defined by its borders), Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye come into the land of Canaan; (this <i>is</i> the land that shall fall unto you for an inheritance, <i>even</i> the land of Canaan with the coasts thereof:) “Command the sons of Israel and say to them, ‘When you enter the land of Canaan, this is the land that shall fall to you as an inheritance, <i>that is, the</i> land of Canaan according to its borders. “Command the Israelites and say to them: ‘When you enter Canaan, the land that will be allotted to you as an inheritance is to have these boundaries:
4 Your southern border will extend from the Wilderness of Zin along the border of Edom. On the east, your southern border will run from the end of the Salt Sea, your south side shall be from the wilderness of Zin alongside Edom, and your southern border shall run from the end of the Salt Sea on the east. Then your south quarter shall be from the wilderness of Zin along by the coast of Edom, and your south border shall be the outmost coast of the salt sea eastward: Your southern region shall extend from the wilderness of Zin along the side of Edom, and your southern border shall extend from the end of the Salt Sea eastward. “’Your southern side will include some of the Desert of Zin along the border of Edom. Your southern boundary will start in the east from the southern end of the Dead Sea,
5 cross south of the Ascent of Akrabbim, continue to Zin, and go south of Kadesh-barnea. Then it will go on to Hazar-addar and proceed to Azmon, And your border shall turn south of the ascent of Akrabbim, and cross to Zin, and its limit shall be south of Kadesh-barnea. Then it shall go on to Hazar-addar, and pass along to Azmon. And your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: and the going forth thereof shall be from the south to Kadeshbarnea, and shall go on to Hazaraddar, and pass on to Azmon: Then your border shall change direction from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim and continue to Zin, and its termination shall be to the south of Kadesh-barnea; and it shall reach Hazaraddar and continue to Azmon. cross south of Scorpion Pass, continue on to Zin and go south of Kadesh Barnea. Then it will go to Hazar Addar and over to Azmon,
6 where it will turn from Azmon, join the Brook of Egypt, and end at the Sea. And the border shall turn from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and its limit shall be at the sea. And the border shall fetch a compass from Azmon unto the river of Egypt, and the goings out of it shall be at the sea. Then the border shall change direction from Azmon to the brook of Egypt, and its termination shall be <i>at</i> the sea. where it will turn, join the Wadi of Egypt and end at the Mediterranean Sea.
7 Your western border will be the coastline of the Great Sea; this will be your boundary on the west. “For the western border, you shall have the Great Sea and its coast. This shall be your western border. And <i>as for</i> the western border, ye shall even have the great sea for a border: this shall be your west border. ‘As for the western border, you shall have the Great Sea, that is, <i>its</i> coastline; this shall be your western border. “’Your western boundary will be the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. This will be your boundary on the west.
8 Your northern border will run from the Great Sea directly to Mount Hor, “This shall be your northern border: from the Great Sea you shall draw a line to Mount Hor. And this shall be your north border: from the great sea ye shall point out for you mount Hor: ‘And this shall be your northern border: you shall draw your boundary from the Great Sea to Mount Hor. “’For your northern boundary, run a line from the Mediterranean Sea to Mount Hor
9 and from Mount Hor to Lebo-hamath, then extend to Zedad, From Mount Hor you shall draw a line to Lebo-hamath, and the limit of the border shall be at Zedad. From mount Hor ye shall point out <i>your border</i> unto the entrance of Hamath; and the goings forth of the border shall be to Zedad: You shall draw a boundary from Mount Hor to the Lebo-hamath, and the termination of the border shall be at Zedad; and from Mount Hor to Lebo Hamath. Then the boundary will go to Zedad,
10 continue to Ziphron, and end at Hazar-enan. This will be your boundary on the north. Then the border shall extend to Ziphron, and its limit shall be at Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern border. And the border shall go on to Ziphron, and the goings out of it shall be at Hazarenan: this shall be your north border. and the border shall proceed to Ziphron, and its termination shall be at Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern border. continue to Ziphron and end at Hazar Enan. This will be your boundary on the north.
11 And your eastern border will run straight from Hazar-enan to Shepham, “You shall draw a line for your eastern border from Hazar-enan to Shepham. And ye shall point out your east border from Hazarenan to Shepham: ‘For your eastern border you shall also draw a boundary from Hazar-enan to Shepham, “’For your eastern boundary, run a line from Hazar Enan to Shepham.
12 then go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain and continue along the slopes east of the Sea of Chinnereth. And the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain. And the border shall go down and reach to the shoulder of the Sea of Chinnereth on the east. And the coast shall go down from Shepham to Riblah, on the east side of Ain; and the border shall descend, and shall reach unto the side of the sea of Chinnereth eastward: and the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east <i>side</i> of Ain; and the border shall go down and reach to the slope on the east side of the Sea of Chinnereth. The boundary will go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain and continue along the slopes east of the Sea of Galilee.
13 Then the border will go down along the Jordan and end at the Salt Sea. This will be your land, defined by its borders on all sides.” And the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its limit shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land as defined by its borders all around.” And the border shall go down to Jordan, and the goings out of it shall be at the salt sea: this shall be your land with the coasts thereof round about. And the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its termination shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land according to its borders on all sides.’” Then the boundary will go down along the Jordan and end at the Dead Sea. “’This will be your land, with its boundaries on every side.’”
14 So Moses commanded the Israelites, “Apportion this land by lot as an inheritance. The LORD has commanded that it be given to the nine and a half tribes. Moses commanded the people of Israel, saying, “This is the land that you shall inherit by lot, which the LORD has commanded to give to the nine tribes and to the half-tribe. And Moses commanded the children of Israel, saying, This <i>is</i> the land which ye shall inherit by lot, which the LORD commanded to give unto the nine tribes, and to the half tribe: So Moses commanded the sons of Israel, saying, “This is the land that you are to possess by lot, which the LORD has commanded to give to the nine and a half tribes. Moses commanded the Israelites: “Assign this land by lot as an inheritance. The LORD has ordered that it be given to the nine-and-a-half tribes,
15 For the tribes of the Reubenites and Gadites, along with the half-tribe of Manasseh, have already received their inheritance. For the tribe of the people of Reuben by fathers’ houses and the tribe of the people of Gad by their fathers’ houses have received their inheritance, and also the half-tribe of Manasseh. For the tribe of the children of Reuben according to the house of their fathers, and the tribe of the children of Gad according to the house of their fathers, have received <i>their inheritance</i>; and half the tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance: For the tribe of the sons of Reuben have received <i>theirs</i> according to their fathers’ households, and the tribe of the sons of Gad according to their fathers’ households, and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their possession. because the families of the tribe of Reuben, the tribe of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh have received their inheritance.
16 These two and a half tribes have received their inheritance across the Jordan from Jericho, toward the sunrise.” The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan east of Jericho, toward the sunrise.” The two tribes and the half tribe have received their inheritance on this side Jordan <i>near</i> Jericho eastward, toward the sunrising. The two and a half tribes have received their possession across the Jordan <i>opposite</i> Jericho, eastward toward the sunrise.” These two-and-a-half tribes have received their inheritance east of the Jordan across from Jericho, toward the sunrise.”

18 “These are the names of the men who are to assign the land as an inheritance for you: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun. “These are the names of the men who shall divide the land to you for inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun. These <i>are</i> the names of the men which shall divide the land unto you: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun. “These are the names of the men who shall assign the land to you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun. “These are the names of the men who are to assign the land for you as an inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua son of Nun.
19 Appoint one leader from each tribe to distribute the land. You shall take one chief from every tribe to divide the land for inheritance. And ye shall take one prince of every tribe, to divide the land by inheritance. And you shall take one leader of each tribe to assign the land as an inheritance. And appoint one leader from each tribe to help assign the land.
20 These are their names: Caleb son of Jephunneh from the tribe of Judah; These are the names of the men: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh. And the names of the men <i>are</i> these: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh. These are the names of the men: of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh. These are their names: Caleb son of Jephunneh, from the tribe of Judah;
21 Shemuel son of Ammihud from the tribe of Simeon; Of the tribe of the people of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud. And of the tribe of the children of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud. 24 Hanniel son of Ephod, a leader from the tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph; Of the people of Joseph: of the tribe of the people of Manasseh a chief, Hanniel the son of Ephod. The prince of the children of Joseph, for the tribe of the children of Manasseh, Hanniel the son of Ephod. 25 Kemuel son of Shiphtan, a leader from the tribe of Ephraim; And of the tribe of the people of Ephraim a chief, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan. 26 Eli-zaphan son of Parnach, a leader from the tribe of Zebulun; Of the tribe of the people of Zebulun a chief, Elizaphan the son of Parnach. And the prince of the tribe of the children of Zebulun, Elizaphan the son of Parnach. Of the tribe of the sons of Zebulun, a leader, Elizaphan the son of Parnach. 27 Paltiel son of Azzan, a leader from the tribe of Issachar; Of the tribe of the people of Issachar a chief, Paltiel the son of Azzan. And the prince of the tribe of the children of Issachar, Paltiel the son of Azzan. Of the tribe of the sons of Issachar, a leader, Paltiel the son of Azzan. 28 Ahihud son of Shelomi, a leader from the tribe of Asher; And of the tribe of the people of Asher a chief, Ahihud the son of Shelomi. And the prince of the tribe of the children of Asher, Ahihud the son of Shelomi. Of the tribe of the sons of Asher, a leader, Ahihud the son of Shelomi. Ahihud son of Shelomi, the leader from the tribe of Asher;
29 and Pedahel son of Ammihud, a leader from the tribe of Naphtali.” Of the tribe of the people of Naphtali a chief, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.” And the prince of the tribe of the children of Naphtali, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.
