1 Now when men began to multiply on the face of the earth and daughters were born to them, When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, Now it came about, when mankind began to multiply on the face of the land, and daughters were born to them, When human beings began to increase in number on the earth and daughters were born to them,
2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful, and they took as wives whomever they chose. the sons of God saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they <i>were</i> fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. that the sons of God saw that the daughters of mankind were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose. the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful, and they married any of them they chose.
3 So the LORD said, “My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days shall be 120 years.” Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also <i>is</i> flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit will not remain with man forever, because he is also flesh; nevertheless his days shall be 120 years.” Then the LORD said, “My Spirit will not contend with humans forever, for they are mortal; their days will be a hundred and twenty years.”
4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days— and afterward as well — when the sons of God had relations with the daughters of men. And they bore them children who became the mighty men of old, men of renown. The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These were the mighty men who were of old, the men of renown. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare <i>children</i> to them, the same <i>became</i> mighty men which <i>were</i> of old, men of renown. 5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great upon the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of his heart was altogether evil all the time. The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man <i>was</i> great in the earth, and <i>that</i> every imagination of the thoughts of his heart <i>was</i> only evil continually. Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of mankind was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of their hearts was only evil continually. The LORD saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time.
6 And the LORD regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. And the LORD regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. So the LORD was sorry that He had made mankind on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart. The LORD regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled.
7 So the LORD said, “I will blot out man, whom I have created, from the face of the earth— every man and beast and crawling creature and bird of the air— for I am grieved that I have made them.” So the LORD said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens, for I am sorry that I have made them.” And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them. Then the LORD said, “I will wipe out mankind whom I have created from the face of the land; mankind, and animals as well, and crawling things, and the birds of the sky. For I am sorry that I have made them.” So the LORD said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.”
8 Noah, however, found favor in the eyes of the LORD. But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD. But Noah found favor in the eyes of the LORD.
9 This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation; Noah walked with God. These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. 13 Then God said to Noah, “The end of all living creatures has come before Me, because through them the earth is full of violence. Now behold, I will destroy both them and the earth. And God said to Noah, “I have determined to make an end of all flesh, for the earth is filled with violence through them. Behold, I will destroy them with the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Then God said to Noah, “The end of humanity has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of people; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth. So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth.
14 Make for yourself an ark of gopher wood; make rooms in the ark and coat it with pitch inside and out. Make yourself an ark of gopher wood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover it inside and out with pitch. Make thee an ark of gopher wood; rooms shalt thou make in the ark, and shalt pitch it within and without with pitch. Make for yourself an ark of gopher wood; you shall make the ark with compartments, and cover it inside and out with pitch. So make yourself an ark of cypress wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out.
15 And this is how you are to build it: The ark is to be 300 cubits long, 50 cubits wide, and 30 cubits high. This is how you are to make it: the length of the ark 300 cubits, its breadth 50 cubits, and its height 30 cubits. And this <i>is the fashion</i> which thou shalt make it <i>of</i>: The length of the ark <i>shall be</i> three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits. This is how you shall make it: the length of the ark <i>shall be</i> three hundred cubits, its width fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits. This is how you are to build it: The ark is to be three hundred cubits long, fifty cubits wide and thirty cubits high.
16 You are to make a roof for the ark, finish its walls a cubit from the top, place a door in the side of the ark, and build lower, middle, and upper decks. Make a roof for the ark, and finish it to a cubit above, and set the door of the ark in its side. Make it with lower, second, and third decks. A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; <i>with</i> lower, second, and third <i>stories</i> shalt thou make it. You shall make a window for the ark, and finish it to a cubit from the top; and put the door of the ark on the side; you shall make it with lower, second, and third decks. Make a roof for it, leaving below the roof an opening one cubit high all around. Put a door in the side of the ark and make lower, middle and upper decks.
17 And behold, I will bring floodwaters upon the earth to destroy every creature under the heavens that has the breath of life. Everything on the earth will perish. For behold, I will bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh in which is the breath of life under heaven. Everything that is on the earth shall die. And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein <i>is</i> the breath of life, from under heaven; <i>and</i> every thing that <i>is</i> in the earth shall die. Now behold, I Myself am bringing the flood of water upon the earth, to destroy all flesh in which there is the breath of life, from under heaven; everything that is on the earth shall perish. I am going to bring floodwaters on the earth to destroy all life under the heavens, every creature that has the breath of life in it. Everything on earth will perish.
18 But I will establish My covenant with you, and you will enter the ark— you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you. But I will establish my covenant with you, and you shall come into the ark, you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee. But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall enter the ark—you, your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives with you. But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife and your sons’ wives with you.
19 And you are to bring two of every living creature into the ark— male and female — to keep them alive with you. And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every sort into the ark to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female. And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every <i>sort</i> shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep <i>them</i> alive with thee; they shall be male and female. And of every living thing of all flesh, you shall bring two of every <i>kind</i> into the ark, to keep <i>them</i> alive with you; they shall be male and female. You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you.
20 Two of every kind of bird and animal and crawling creature will come to you to be kept alive. Of the birds according to their kinds, and of the animals according to their kinds, of every creeping thing of the ground, according to its kind, two of every sort shall come in to you to keep them alive. Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every <i>sort</i> shall come unto thee, to keep <i>them</i> alive. Of the birds according to their kind, and of the animals according to their kind, of every crawling thing of the ground according to its kind, two of every <i>kind</i> will come to you to keep <i>them</i> alive. Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive.
21 You are also to take for yourself every kind of food that is eaten and gather it as food for yourselves and for the animals.” Also take with you every sort of food that is eaten, and store it up. It shall serve as food for you and for them.” And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather <i>it</i> to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them. As for you, take for yourself some of every food that is edible, and gather <i>it</i> to yourself; and it shall be food for you and them.” You are to take every kind of food that is to be eaten and store it away as food for you and for them.”
22 So Noah did everything precisely as God had commanded him. Noah did this; he did all that God commanded him. Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he. So Noah did <i>these things;</i> according to everything that God had commanded him, so he did. Noah did everything just as God commanded him.
