31 That is why he named that place Beer Sheba, because the two of them swore an oath there. Therefore that place was called Beersheba, because there both of them swore an oath. So that place was called Beersheba, because the two men swore an oath there.
32 So they made a treaty at Beer Sheba. Then Abimelech and Phicol, the commander of his army, returned to the land of the Philistines. So they made a covenant at Beersheba. Then Abimelech and Phicol the commander of his army rose up and returned to the land of the Philistines. After the treaty had been made at Beersheba, Abimelek and Phicol the commander of his forces returned to the land of the Philistines.
33 Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beer Sheba. There he worshiped the LORD, the eternal God. Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba and called there on the name of the LORD, the Everlasting God. Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the LORD, the Eternal God.
