5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Turn away from such as these! having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people.
6 They are the kind who worm their way into households and captivate vulnerable women who are weighed down with sins and led astray by various passions, For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over gullible women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires,

8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth. They are depraved in mind and disqualified from the faith. But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men. But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone.
10 You, however, have observed my teaching, my conduct, my purpose, my faith, my patience, my love, my perseverance, You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness, You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance,

14 But as for you, continue in the things you have learned and firmly believed, since you know from whom you have learned them.
