Of the Palm-bearing Multitude of Persons innumerable, rejoicing in triumph, out of all nations, and kindreds, and peoples, and tongues; with the Seventh Trumpet, or Period after the Destruction of the Beast. I. The palm-bearing multitude immediately succeeds the company of a hundred and forty-four thousand sealed; but that company which is to be considered as the opposite to the beast, with which it is contemporary, both in meaning and duration, completed its period likewise with the beast. (Synch. IV. Part. I.) Therefore the palm-bearing multitude follows both, and consequently falls in with the seventh trumpet, which is the interval from the downfal of the beast. The palm-bearing multitude are citizens of the new Jerusalem; for of both it is said, "that they shall not hunger any more, nor thirst any more; that the Lamb shall feed them, and lead them to living fountains of waters; and that God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes." Now, the new Jerusalem is contemporary with the seventh trumpet, and therefore the palm-bearing multitude is so likewise. |
