1Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.   reverence, respect

The Corinthians’ Repentance

2Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.   wronged; taken advantage of

3I speak not this to condemn youp: for I have said before, that youp are in our hearts to die and live with youp.

4Great is my boldness of speech toward youp, great is my glorying of youp: I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.   boasting; afflictions

5For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; outside were fightings, inside were fears.

6Nevertheless God, that comforts those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;

In all things youp have approved yourselvesp to be clear in this matter.   shown; innocent

12Wherefore, though I wrote to youp, I did it not for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause that suffered wrong, but that our care for youp in the sight of God might appear to youp.

The Joy of Titus

13Therefore we were comforted in yourp comfort: yea, and exceedingly the more joyed we for the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by youp all.

14For if I have boasted any thing to him of youp, I am not ashamed; but as we spoke all things to youp in truth, even so our boasting, which I made before Titus, is found a truth.   embarrassed; to be the

15And his inward affection is more abundant toward youp, until he remembers the obedience of youp all, how with fear and trembling youp received him.

16I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in youp in all things.
