Interwoven Gospels Then one of the multitude said to Jesus, "Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me." But He said to him, "Man, who appointed Me a judge or divider over you?" Then He said to them, "Beware, and keep yourselves from all covetousness; for not in the abundance that any one hath, of what he possesseth, is his life." And He spake a parable to them, saying, "The land of a certain rich man brought forth bountifully. And he reasoned within himself, saying, 'What shall I do, since I have not where to store my fruits?' And he said, 'This will I do: I will pull down my barns and build greater; and there will I store my produce and my good things. And I will say to my soul, soul, thou hast many good things laid up for many years; take thy rest, eat, drink, be merry." But God said to him, 'Thou fool! This night thy soul will be required of thee; and the things which thou hast hoarded, whose shall they be?' So is he who is laying up treasure for himself, and is not rich towards God."
