Interwoven Gospels After this Jesus appeared to James; then to all the apostles, to whom He also exhibited Himself alive, after He had suffered, by many proofs appearing to them through forty days, and speaking the things concerning the kingdom of God, until the day in which He was received up, after He had given commandment through the Holy Spirit to the apostles whom He had chosen. Now He said to them, "These are My words which I spake to you, being yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled that are written in the law of Moses and the prophets and psalms concerning Me." Then He opened their mind that they might understand the Scriptures. And He said to them, "Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise from among the dead on the third day; and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. Ye are witnesses of these things. And behold, I send the promise of My Father upon you. But continue in the city, till ye be clothed with power from on high." Now Jesus did many other signs in the presence of the disciples, which are not written in this book; which, if they should be written one by one, I suppose that not even the world itself would contain the books that would be written. But these have been written, that ye may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing, ye may have life in His name.
