Interwoven Gospels Now a certain one said to Him, "Lord, are there few that are saved?" Then He said to them, "Strive earnestly to enter in through the narrow door: for many, I say to you, shall seek to enter in, and shall not be able. The Master of the house hath risen up and shut the door, and ye begin, as ye stand outside and knock, to say, 'Lord, open to us;' and He shall answer and say to you, 'I know you not, nor whence ye are." Then shall ye begin to say, 'We ate and drank in Thy presence, and Thou didst teach in our streets." And He shall say, 'I tell you, I know not whence ye are; depart from Me, all ye workers of iniquity." There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, while ye yourselves are cast forth without the door. And they shall come from east and west and north and south, and shall recline at table in the kingdom of God. And behold, there are last that shall be first, and there are first that shall be last." In that very hour certain Pharisees came, saying to Him, "Get Thee out, and go hence; for Herod wishes to kill Thee." And He said to them, "Go your way and tell that fox, behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I finish My work; but it is necessary that I go on My way today, and tomorrow, and the day following: for it is not possible that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem."
