Jesus Sought at Jerusalem Arrives at Bethany
Interwoven Gospels

Now the Passover of the Jews was near; and many went up to Jerusalem out of the country before the Passover. that they might purify themselves. They, therefore, were seeking Jesus and saying to one another, while standing in the temple, "What do you think? That He will not come to the feast?" Now the chief priests and the Pharisees had given orders that if any one should find out where He is, he should make it known, that they might take Him. Now Jesus, six days before the Passover, came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom Jesus raised from the dead. A great multitude of the Jews, therefore, found out that He was there; and they came, not because of Jesus only, but that they might see Lazarus also, whom He raised from the dead. But the chief priests determined to put Lazarus to death also; because many of the Jews, by reason of him, were going away and believing on Jesus.
