Wisdom 18:5
Good News Translation
When your enemies were carrying out their resolve to kill the babies of your holy people, there was one child who was abandoned but later rescued. Then you punished your enemies by killing a great number of their own children. You drowned their whole army at one time in the rushing waters.

New Revised Standard Version
When they had resolved to kill the infants of your holy ones, and one child had been abandoned and rescued, you in punishment took away a multitude of their children; and you destroyed them all together by a mighty flood.

Contemporary English Version
The Egyptians wanted to kill the newborn sons of your chosen people, but Moses was rescued and survived. Then you decided to punish the Egyptians by killing their first-born sons and by drowning their army in the sea.
