Good News Translation
It was human pride that brought them into the world, and that is why a quick end has been planned for them.

For through human vanity they entered the world, and therefore their speedy end has been planned.

They resulted from human pride, and so you have plans for them to end quickly.

Then, in process of time, wicked custom prevailing, this error was kept as a law, and statues were worshipped by the commandment of tyrants.
