Tobit 13:2
Good News Translation
He punishes us; then he shows us mercy. He sends us down to the world of the dead, then he brings us up from the grave. No one can escape his power.

For he afflicts, and he shows mercy; he leads down to Hades in the lowest regions of the earth, and he brings up from the great abyss, and there is nothing that can escape his hand.

God punishes and shows mercy; he can send people down to the world of the dead, or rescue them from great destruction. No one can escape his power.
