Sirach 8:16
Good News Translation
You should not get into an argument with anyone who has a hot temper or go to some place where the two of you will be alone. Violence means nothing to such a person, and he will attack you when there is no one to help you.

New Revised Standard Version
Do not pick a fight with the quick-tempered, and do not journey with them through lonely country, because bloodshed means nothing to them, and where no help is at hand, they will strike you down.

Contemporary English Version
Don't start a fight with hot-tempered people. They don't care who they kill, so don't travel with them along deserted roads, where you would be helpless if they attacked.

New American Bible
Do not defy the quick-tempered, or ride with them through the desert. For bloodshed is nothing to them; when there is no one to help, they will destroy you.
