Sirach 48:15
Good News Translation
But in spite of all this, the people did not abandon their sinful ways until they were taken from their land as prisoners and scattered all over the world. This left the nation few in number, but those who remained were still ruled by the descendants of David.

New Revised Standard Version
Despite all this the people did not repent, nor did they forsake their sins, until they were carried off as plunder from their land, and were scattered over all the earth. The people were left very few in number, but with a ruler from the house of David.

Contemporary English Version
But the northern kingdom still did not give up sinning and they did not turn to God. And so, they were captured and led away to foreign countries. The kingdom of Judah had few people, but at least they had a king from David's family.

New American Bible
Despite all this the people did not repent, nor did they give up their sins, Until they were uprooted from their land and scattered all over the earth. But Judah remained, a tiny people, with its ruler from the house of David.
