Sirach 47:22
Good News Translation
But the Lord will always be merciful and keep all his promises. He will never destroy the descendants of David, whom he chose and who loved him. So for Israel's sake he allowed David's family to survive.

New Revised Standard Version
But the Lord will never give up his mercy, or cause any of his works to perish; he will never blot out the descendants of his chosen one, or destroy the family line of him who loved him. So he gave a remnant to Jacob, and to David a root from his own family.

Contemporary English Version
But the Lord will continue to have mercy; he will never abandon those he has chosen and who love him. And so, the Lord has kept alive a few of David's descendants for the sake of Israel.

New American Bible
But God does not withdraw his mercy, nor permit even one of his promises to fail. He does not uproot the posterity of the chosen, nor destroy the offspring of his friends. So he gave to Jacob a remnant, to David a root from his own family.
