Sirach 45:24
Good News Translation
And so the Lord made a covenant with him, valid for all time to come, that he should be in charge of the sanctuary and of his people, that he and his descendants should hold the office of High Priest forever.

Therefore a covenant of friendship was established with him, that he should be leader of the sanctuary and of his people, that he and his descendants should have the dignity of the priesthood forever.

and promised to Phinehas and his descendants the honor of forever being leaders of the nation and priests in the temple.
