Sirach 44:17
Good News Translation
Noah was a perfectly righteous man. After destruction came, he gave the human race a new start. Because of him there were people left on earth when the flood was over.

New Revised Standard Version
Noah was found perfect and righteous; in the time of wrath he kept the race alive; therefore a remnant was left on the earth when the flood came.

Noah was perfectly loyal to God. And so when God in his anger sent the flood to sweep humans from the earth, he spared Noah's life.
