Sirach 38:33
Good News Translation
These people are not sought out to serve on the public councils, and they never attain positions of great importance. They do not serve as judges, and they do not understand legal matters. They have no education and are not known for their wisdom. You never hear them quoting proverbs.

New Revised Standard Version
nor do they attain eminence in the public assembly. They do not sit in the judge’s seat, nor do they understand the decisions of the courts; they cannot expound discipline or judgment, and they are not found among the rulers.

Contemporary English Version
and they don't become leaders in the town council. They are not judges and cannot explain the decisions of the court. They cannot even tell stories that teach lessons.
