Sirach 27:20
Good News Translation
Don't bother going after him. It's too late. He is gone, like a deer escaped from a trap.

Do not go after him, for he is too far off, and has escaped like a gazelle from a snare.

or a deer that has escaped from a trap. So don't bother trying to get back that friendship.
