Sirach 23:3
Good News Translation
Then I would not keep on sinning, making one mistake after another. I could not fall to my enemies and be humiliated by them.

Otherwise my mistakes may be multiplied, and my sins may abound, and I may fall before my adversaries, and my enemy may rejoice over me.

Otherwise, I will sin more often and make more mistakes, allowing my enemies to destroy me and celebrate.
