Sirach 22:19
Good News Translation
If you stick something in your eye, tears will flow; and if you hurt a person deeply, you will discover his true feelings.

One who pricks the eye brings tears, and one who pricks the heart makes clear its feelings.

Poke someone in the eye and they will shed tears; but wound their heart and they will show deep pain.
